The inaugural Adweek Experiential Awards event will be held -er- sometime in early 2019 is my best guess, as Adweek is so far silent on date.

If you're wondering what "experiential advertising" might entail, here's a collection of examples from Ads of the World.

Early-bird entry deadline is 15 January 2019 (entry fee $495 for first category), final deadline ($595 for first category) 28 January, additional categories $250 per entry, extensions available on request.

Entries must have been created for a paying or pro-bono client, and have first appeared in public before 1 February 2019.

Categories include:

  • Spend (4 levels, <$1M to $5M+)
  • Best (9 sub-categories)
  • Brand (9 industries)
  • Best use of (10 media)
  • Best of the Year
    • Agency
    • Brand
    • Executive
    • Rising Star
  • Special Awards
    • xG Award (guerilla experiential)
    • Brave Heart Award (biggest risk and reward)
    • Adweek X Award for (most creatively effective activation)
