MOTT recruiting for Director of Marketing
The Massachusetts Office of Travel & Tourism has announced a job opening for a Director of Marketing (Administrator V grade) located in Boston.
Job in a nutshell:
- Develop, manage and evaluate domestic and international marketing programs
- Manage marketing for group tourism, meetings and events, corporate, and cruise marketing segments
- Market industry segments to audience segments
- Collaborate with regional tourism councils
Duties:
- Develop and execute annual marketing plan using strategies that engage industry segments (as above)
- Attend trade shows, conduct followup and lead generation
- Identify marketing opportunities and develop statewide initiatives
- Collaborate with the Research Director to understand industry trends and recommend strategic marketing initiatives
"Preferred" knowledge, skills and experience:
- 5+ years destination marketing experience
- Knowledge of travel/tourism industry
- Ability to multitask
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Ability to travel to trade shows
- Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
"Minimum" qualifications:
- 5 years full-time (or equivalent) of professional, administrative, supervisory or managerial experience in business administration, business management, public administration, etc., etc.; OR
- Any "equivalent combination" of Certificates, Bachelor's Degrees, Graduate Degrees or Doctorate Degrees - according to a complicated formula (See the Announcement.)
Salary: $81K - $90K per annum
Reporting location: 1 Ashburton Place, Boston (McCormack Building, near Government Center T)
