Events DC and Destination DC are seeking proposals for an ad campaign aimed at bringing visitors back to the city as soon as possible this year.
Both organizations are funded mainly by the city lodging tax and convention-center revenue, both of which have been down significantly since the spring of 2020.
The new campaign would be kicked off this spring with a budget of $400K.
Per RFP, the campaign - using TV, digital and print - should include "lower-funnel, conversion-driving, bolster-the-economy-right-now advertising creative that differentiates D.C. in the marketplace" and also stress safety from COVID-19 and DC's "protest tourism" credentials as selling points.
Proposals are due by 5 PM EST 19 February 2021 by e-mail to AgencyRFP@washington.org with subject: Destination DC Creative Agency RFP.
Finalists will be invited to make virtual presentations to a selection panel within a week of proposal submission.
