BelTech 2019 organized by Belfast-based software developers Kainos Group PLC is billed as "the premier technology event for local software practitioners, business leaders, entrepreneurs and young people aspiring to break into the industry".
Conference theme will be "Intelligent Software - looking at how software can solve the right problems in the right way".
From Kainos CTO Tom Gray:
“Software engineering remains a core focus of BelTech and, with the rise of AI, we are focused on solving problems in an efficient and ethical way, not on using the technology for the sake of it. We’ll be challenging software professionals to think carefully about how and what they are doing and the wider implications of their work.”
11 April schedule isn't set yet, but 12 April begins with registration at 9 AM, finishes with a talk by Claire Houston of Kainos at 1 PM.
Announced speaker (as of 4 March) is Verv COO Maria McKavanagh.
Exhibitors include PwC UK and Amazon Web Services.
Early Bird ticket pricing available through 31 March is 75 GBP + VAT, 100 GBP + VAT after that.
Conference looks to be heavily technical, but with the ever-expanding use of AI and machine learning in advertising and marketing by Google and others, people whose job it is to get sales need to gain an understanding of how the underlying technology works. And the price is right.
