Melville, NY-based Newsday is a daily newspaper primarily serving the NY counties of Nassau and Suffolk and the New York City borough of Queens on Long Island. Daily circulation is 437,000, Sunday a little higher, which the paper claims makes it #1 on Long Island.
For the first time, Newsday has planned a Travel Expo to be held on Saturday 23 February 2019 at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, NY. Organizers say they expect 8000 attendees.
Organizers plan to put together exhibits, a culinary stage, cultural presentations, childrens' program and a craft beer and wine pavilion.
A 10'x10' exhibit space with table and 2 chairs costs $1250. Media add-ons are available for $600 and up.
Adult attendee tickets are $8 (and up - ?), under 16 free.
Distribution of exhibit-hall space as shown on the floor plan is heavy on NY, USA and Caribbean.
Given Long Island's proximity to New England, this show might be worth trying (at least once) for New England tourism destinations and businesses. Booth space isn't exactly dirt-cheap, but it's less than the $3300 the Boston Globe Show (with 3X the expected attendees) charged for 2018.
